This year is the most challenging time in humanities, especially here in the Philippines. Taal Volcano erupted early January resulting in more than a hundred thousand families being evacuated from there homes, leaving everything just to keep safe from the ash fall and now and then earthquake came from the volcanic eruption.

The bush fire in Australia, it was one of the largest forest fire in the history, almost every territory of the whole continent of Australia has been on fire, while other countries enjoying the snow and cold weather, in Australia was at the peak of summer. Drought and forest fire every day killing more than five hundred thousand living animals, you will cry for your self once you see the losing the home by the fire. Consuming every tree that they used to sleep. Thank God, He answers the prayers. It rains for the first time in a month.

Then another tragedy happened, one of the most admired and iconic basketball superstars in the NBA died in the same month. Kobe Bryant died together with his daughter and other seven individuals in a tragic helicopter crash in California. At first, I didn’t believe such horrible news but when the news started to file up all about the accident and reporting bout the gravity of accident I was at shock for about ten minutes and didn’t know what to think and started to pray that somehow Kobe will come out of nowhere with his daughter unscratched and the seven others but days past and nobody had been verified yet is the accident site was on a terrain which was hard to go through. And then more than five days later it was confirmed that Kobe and all other passengers of his private helicopter died on the site. The whole world of basketball fans, Hollywood, and every people who knew him to mourn and wept for this tragic event. He just retired and expecting their fourth baby then this happens. Here in the Philippines he’s like the god of the basketball, we idolized him and look after him, his plays and passion to the game and helping the next generation to see his mindset not just in basketball but in their perspective of life to not give up and keep dreaming coz it’s free but to achieve those dreams of yours you need perseverance and dedication and what you love to do and what you want to become. That is the impact of Kobe Bryant’s legacy in our life.

Last December we had the vacation of our life in Seoul, South Korea. It was one to remember not just it was a beautiful country and you will surely come back there but because I think it going to take years to get back there. Because of this COVID-19 virus, we are blessed for our safety when we were there. It was in January that this virus gains traction to the world, flights in and out of mainland China started to close and countries nearby take measures on how to contain it. The COVID-19 virus which they say came from bats that we’re able to transmit to humans and evolve infect and worst kill those who are vulnerable with other ailing diseases. In the Philippines, we had our first case of COVID-19 on January 26, 2020, from a Chinese tourist that came directly from Wuhan China, the epicenter of the virus. The news says it was originated from the wet market of wild animals including bats and other exotic species that are the carrier of the different virus. But other sources said that it was china itself who accidentally got infected by a live virus from there laboratory in Wuhan then not knowing the effect of exposure possible from the wet market or their experiment, the virus has reached almost the entire world. Infecting more than six million eight hundred plus thousands and killing more than three hundred thousand of it. In the Philippines as of June, we now have twenty thousand cases, and coming since the enemy is invisible its hard to contain, we cannot identify easily who is the carrier of the virus because of symptoms. Some are asymptomatic meaning you are infected, but you do not have any sign of it, while others are fighting for there lives in the hospital, every day we hear the updates of additional confirmed cases, good thing we have increasing recovery each day as we fight to flatten the curve of increase, the deaths are still rising but slowly. Hopefully sooner or later someone by God’s grace can create a vaccine and medicine for this killing virus.
