The Land Transportation Office decided to extend the validity of registrations of all types of vehicles due to the current pandemic we are facing. The LTO said that all plate ending in number six (6) in areas of National Capital Region(NCR), Region three, Laguna part and Cebu had been given an additional 30 days aside from the first 60 days, the previous extension given in the resumption of government offices and relaxing of quarantine. There will penalty collected for renewal transactions for the whole month of July. With this, Car owner can now process the renewal of vehicle registration until September 3, 2020
LTO Chief Edgar Galvante said in a statement that they will continue extending the validity and period of renewal of motor vehicle registrations since March due to the Covid-19 pandemic.
For the Vehicles with Plate numbers ending in 7, 8, 9, and 0 a 30-day extension has also been given which means you’ll have another month to process your renewal.
Here’s the revised schedule for the covered vehicles:
- Plates ending in 7- from July 31 now adjusted to August 31;
- Plates ending in 8- from August now adjusted to September 30;
- Plates ending in 9- from September 30 now adjusted to October 31; and
- Plates ending in 0- from October 31 to November 30, 2020.
There will be no penalty and other charges will incurred for the renewal transactions within the given extension schedule. The implementation of the order will avoid possible contamination of viruses and congestion at the LTO branches and ensure that only schedule applicants will be entertained to maintain the social distancing. The secretary urged the motorist to strictly follow the revised schedule in order to avoid delaying and locking down of LTO Offices.
