How to check your license by SMS and check your plate number
For the average person without a contact inside the Land Transportation Office (LTO), trying to validate their driver’s license and license plate number could be very challenging.
Many auto dealer corporations have a liaison person who conducts large-scale transactions inside the LTO office.
There is a simpler way to verify a driver’s license and license plate number without living where you are now for regular people who wish to buy a used automobile or verify the identity of the person who submitted a driver’s license to them. That is done utilizing your phone and SMS, or text messaging.
Simply send the text LTO LICENSE [Driver’s license number] to 2600 to verify a driver’s license. Fill out the license number without a dash or a space (-). Enter it as N06-66-666666 if your license number is N06-66-666666.
Simply send the text LTO VEHICLE [Plate number] to 2600 to validate a license plate number. Without a space, type the license plate number. If your license plate number is 6666 XX, type 6666 XX instead. With the new format, this functions for both automobiles and motor vehicles (e.g. XX 66666, XXX 6666, etc.)
Any network, including Sun Cellular, Globe Telecom, Smart Communication, Talk n Text, Touch Mobile, and other significant networks, is compatible with it.
With regard to both verifications, keywords are not case-sensitive. You have the option of typing them in all caps locked or all small characters, like in the first illustration.
You will only learn the license’s validity and whether it has any unresolved alarms or apprehensions when you verify a driver’s license.
The information you’ll receive for plate number verification includes the make, model, year model, color, last registration, and whether the vehicle has any unresolved alarms or concerns.
For each successful verification, the payment is Php2.50.
You might occasionally receive a “no record found” SMS reply. It’s possible that the document or record you’re looking for wasn’t instantly posted to the database.
In that situation, you should visit the nearby LTO branch or satellite office to confirm it for yourself.
You can contact the LTO via phone at (02) 9229061 to 63 for additional information.
