LTO: LIST OF ACCREDITED DRIVING SCHOOLS

LTO Announce that starting August 3, 2020, Those applicants for new student permits, driver’s licenses, and upgrade of restriction code to their license are now required to undergo a comprehensive driving seminar before proceeding to the final application. Land Transportation Office (LTO) recently released the list of accredited driving schools that need to be taken and must be transmitted electronically to the LTO server.

The LTO has published the complete list (as of July 31, 2020) of their accredited driving schools which are authorized to conduct driving seminars.

According to the LTO, this is in line with the Republic Act 10930 or the “Act Rationalizing and strengthening the policy regarding driver’s license by extending the validity period of driver’s licenses, and penalizing acts in violation of its issuance and application, amending for those purposes Section 23 of Republic Act 4136, as amended by Batas Pambansa Bldg. 398 and Executive Order No. 1011, otherwise known as the Land Transportation and Traffic Code.”

For student permit applications, each applicant must show proof of having attended a minimum of 15 hours of theoretical driving classroom seminars from LTO-accredited driving schools or the LTO itself. For driver’s license applicants, it’s a minimum of 8 hours of hands-on driving lessons from an LTO-accredited instructor from an LTO-accredited driving school or the LTO itself. Written and practical exams must be a part of this curriculum.

Upon completion of the required driving seminars, these accredited schools will electronically transmit results and certificates of completion to the LTO. These records will then by accessed by the agency when the applicant applies for a student permit, license, or renewal.
